The Columbia Icefield is the largest ice field in North America's Rocky Mountains. It borders British Columbia and Alberta, Canada.  The triple Continental Divide lies at the hydrographic apex of North America. Its meltwaters are called the "mother of rivers," as the waters flow north to the Arctic Ocean, west to the Pacific Ocean, and east to Hudson Bay then to the Atlantic Ocean.
