Canada: Alberta, Yukon Territory & British Columbia
Canada is nothing short of amazing. The Rocky Mountains start in the northwestern region and contain a fantastic stretch from Banff to Jasper called the Icefields Parkway. It is said that the Icefields Parkway is one of the most beautiful journeys on the planet, and after exploring all of it, I can contest that statement. The other thing that amazed me was the massive amount of healthy forests that never seemed to end as I drove through thousands of miles of happy green trees! At one point, when I was heading south on my way back home, I drove from the Alcan border of Alaska to Prince Rupert on the coast of British Columbia. For the entire 17-hour duration, I had ZERO cell phone service; most of that time, my satellite navigation system was blank. I'm glad I had paper maps in the must-carry Milepost book!
